Mission Statement
Do you hate waiting in line to buy snacks at the theater?
You're not alone.
As a mobile app, MovieMunch aims to streamline the food service at movie theaters. Order and pay anywhere from the comfort of your phone, so your snacks are ready when you are. Skip the line, save some time, and never deliberate between snacks and screentime again.
User Interviews and Industry Research
I conducted research on industry standards, and interviewed some customers who frequent the movie theater. Here are my key learnings:
1. Mobile apps for ordering snacks is not a standard feature in the Movie Theater industry.
2. Theater revenue stems largely from selling concessions.
3. Snacks are important, but Screen Time is most important. Users will overwhelmingly choose screen time over snacks.
4. A mobile app for ordering snacks would be a well received idea, especially provided opportunities for deals. A pickup window seems most appealing.
